Sell pergola glazing with a design the buyer can actually see

A glass pergola enclosure configurator offers three glazing types per side — frameless sliding, framed sliding and single sliding. The buyer switches between them directly in 3D, sees the difference in division and transparency, and submits a configuration that states which side carries which glazing and whether it is safety glass.

Glazing is the most frequently sold pergola enclosure and the place where most misunderstandings start: the buyer says "glass" and means something different from the salesperson. This page describes a configurator that shows the difference between glazing types before the quotation and collects the data without which glazing cannot be priced anyway.

Who this solution is for

  • Manufacturers selling both the pergola and the glazing who want one design rather than two documents.
  • Dealers who need to explain frameless versus framed sliding without a photo gallery.
  • Businesses retrofitting glazing onto other suppliers’ pergolas who need exact side dimensions.
01

What buyers can configure

Glazing type per side
Frameless sliding, framed sliding and single sliding glass, chosen independently for each open side.
Safety glass
A safety-glass switch at the level of an individual side rather than the whole build.
Frame and profile colour
RAL shades, black, white, anthracite or a wood-look finish, plus a custom RGB shade.
Equipment
Heating on a specific side, LED edge lighting, remote control and installation services.
02

What the engine validates

Availability per side
The back side is not offered on a wall-mounted build; the other three sides always stay independent.
Splitting long sides
A side longer than the 5 m span receives an intermediate post that divides the glazing into two bays.
Mixing with other infills
Glass on one side does not rule out louvres, a solid wall or a screen on the side next to it.
03

What changes the price

Glazing type
Frameless sliding demands more from the hardware and tolerances than framed; the single sliding variant is the simplest.
Glazed area
Side length and pergola height determine the number of leaves and the total pane area.
Safety specification
Choosing safety glass changes the price on the side where it is switched on.
Finish and equipment
Profile colour, heating, lighting, delivery and installation follow your price list.

What buyers and sales receive

For the buyer
A 3D view of the glazed pergola with switchable glazing types and a PDF quotation summarising the sides.
For sales
A per-side breakdown: glazing type, safety specification, dimensions and equipment, plus a link to the design.

What we need for implementation

Product data
We need your glazing systems, their dimensional limits and the rules governing safety specification.
Pricing rules
Pricing is tied to area, sliding type and safety glass according to your price list.
Enquiry delivery
The configuration with its per-side breakdown goes out by email or into CRM.

Frequently asked questions

What separates frameless from framed sliding in the configurator?+

Both the visual and the data. In 3D the leaf division and profile visibility change; in the configuration the glazing type changes, and that is what reaches the enquiry and your pricing.

Can safety glass be selected on just one side?+

Yes. Safety specification is a property of the side. A buyer can switch it on only where there is a pool or a step and leave standard glass elsewhere.

Can it work with a pergola we did not supply?+

Yes, provided the dimensions and structure type are entered. Glazing is derived from the side dimensions, so the configurator also works as a retrofit tool.

Is the glazing price shown to the buyer?+

That is your decision. The price can be exact, indicative or hidden; sales receives the underlying data either way.

What if the buyer wants glazing on two sides only?+

They set those and leave the rest open. The configuration then contains only the sides that are genuinely glazed.
